The Conference on Natural Language Processing (“Konferenz zur Verarbeitung natürlicher Sprache”, KONVENS) has been held regularly since 1992. The 15th KONVENS 2019 will take place October 08–11, 2019 in Erlangen (Germany).
We welcome original, unpublished contributions on research, development, applications and evaluation, covering all areas of natural language processing, ranging from basic questions to practical implementations of natural language resources, components and systems.
This year’s central theme is:
Bridging the gap between NLP and human understanding.
We especially encourage the submission of contributions relating to this theme by focussing on issues such as the interpretability of NLP-generated results, the improvement of automatic NLP tools through human insights, or semi-supervised machine learning approaches.
Submission Guidelines
We welcome the following two types of contributions:
- Full papers (8 pages plus references), describing original research with substantial new results
- Short papers (4 pages plus references), including small focussed contributions, work in progress, opinion pieces, as well as descriptions of projects, systems and resources
Reviews will be anonymous. The conference languages are English and German.
Both long and short papers will be presented orally or as posters as determined by the programme committee. The decisions will be based on the nature rather than the quality of the work.
Templates, including example files and detailed formatting instructions, are available for both LaTeX and Microsoft Word. Regardless of the system you use, submissions should always be made in PDF format. For the anonymous submission, please double-check that no personal information is retained in the PDF’s properties or metadata. Please find our template files and further instructions at http://2019.konvens.org/submission.
If you have an option, we recommend that you use the LaTeX version.
