- evolutionary models for collective systems, social networks dynamics;
- semantic proximity measures in social networks, weak semantics models;
- collective knowledge discovery, emergent collective behavior;
- link prediction, citation networks, bibliometrics in collective environments;
- sentiment analysis, wisdom of crowds; collaborative social tagging, trust, reputation and recommendation systems;
- multimodal media search, semantics of social multimedia; massive learning environment, peer assessment, teachers self evaluation;
- ubiquitous and mobile collective systems, massive personal sensor networks integration

Submission Guidelines
Papers must be original contributions written in English and must be submitted through the ICCSA Electronic Submission site as:
- Full Paper (10-16 pages)
- Short Paper (7-9 pages)
Please upload all submissions in LNCS format. Each paper must be original and unpublished work, not submitted for publication elsewhere (copyright problems fall entirely under responsibility of the authors).
To ensure high quality, submitted papers will be carefully peer-reviewed by at least 3 PC members based on originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of exposition. Papers on applications, case studies, and data sets are welcome, as well as master/PhD thesis showcases.
Submission of a paper should be regarded as an undertaking that, if the paper is accepted, at least one of the authors should register and present orally the paper in the conference. Failure to do so shall lead to exclusion of the paper for the proceedings.
Detailed instructions for submission can be found in the ICCSA page of Instructions for Authors. Questions on topics of the submission can be sent to the scientific program committee. Any further question on technical aspects of submission, or inquiry for technical problems can be sent to Osvaldo Gervasi. Please note that the Electronic Submission Site has a separate login access with respect to the registration to the conference.
Publication
Accepted papers for IWCES will appear in the conference proceedings to be published by Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) (edited by Springer). In order to be included in the proceedings, at least one of the authors should register to the conference and present the paper (each paper will be submitted to a fee), according to the rules specified in the ICCSA website.
Venue
The conference will be held in the 17th International Conference on Computational Science and Applications (ICCSA 2017), on July 3 - 6, 2017 in Trieste, Italy in collaboration with the University of Trieste, Italy.
