The STEM 2024 conference will bring together education researchers to promote a pan-continental conversation on critical issues pertaining to learning, teaching, design and development in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education. Internationally, STEM education has been identified as an essential area for growth at the K-16 levels. At the same time, issues of democratization, equity, power and access, including anti-colonizing and decolonizing efforts in public education, are also now central concerns in STEM education.
The goal of this conference is to further and deepen scholarship of the research community led by the International Society for STEM in Education (ISSE) along the following thematic areas:
- STEM education within and across settings (in-school, out-of-school)
- Geo-political and historical perspectives in STEM education
- Indigenous approaches in STEM education
- Interdisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity in STEM education
- Social justice in STEM education
- Intersectionality in STEM education
- Centering arts in STEM education
- Bodies, mobility and STEM Education
- New technologies in STEM education
- Research-Practice partnerships in STEM education
We invite submissions in the form of abstracts for paper, poster and symposia proposals on these topics and beyond. Abstracts must be submitted via Easy Chair at the following link: CLOSED.
All submissions will be peer reviewed by at least two referees. Deadline for submissions is March 1, 2024 March 3, 2024 (Final Extension), and reviews and invitations to attend will be sent to authors by April 1, 2024. Revised and extended versions of selected papers will be invited for publication in the following venues:
