The recent advancements in the fields of artificial intelligence and machine learning have increased the potential for wider applications of intelligent systems in governance. Governance embraces all aspects of governing including leadership, management, administration, and operations that stems from decision-making to create or reinforce specific objectives and values for the common good. Governance spans all types of systems in the public, corporate, and social domains where laws, norms, policies, and rules exist to guide conduct and practices.
However, studies have shown that despite the huge potentials for the application of intelligent systems and AI in governance, there are various challenges in salient areas such as organizational readiness to leverage AI, availability of usable data for AI implementations, ethical awareness, and technical capacity that could affect the success of intelligent systems in governance, and its wider uptake and utilization.
This workshop seeks to bring together researchers and practitioners to exchange and discuss the most recent AI techniques, methods, approaches, and applications that are relevant to governance in the public, corporate, and social domains. The workshop will create a platform to interrogate ideas, concepts, achievements, and lessons learned from the design, development, and deployment of intelligent systems for governance. It will also create opportunities for intellectual engagement on the extant challenges associated with applications of intelligent systems in governance and the design of intelligent systems for governance
