The International Conference on Indigenous Language Documentation, Education, and Revitalization (ICILDER) invites abstract submissions for presentations and posters from presenters of all disciplines, backgrounds, and languages.
The theme for this year’s inaugural conference is Language Documentation and Revitalization in the International Decade of Indigenous Languages, or more broadly, Language Is. We invite you to submit proposals related to: Indigenous language documentation, education practices, equity and representation, and linguistic work leading into the United Nations’ International Decade of Indigenous Languages (IDIL, 2022-2032).
This conference will be held primarily in English, but presentations and posters in other languages are welcome and encouraged. If you intend to present in a language other than English, please specify which language(s) you’ll be using, as well as whether you will be able to provide an English translation of your presentation or poster for other attendees.
Abstracts (in English) of 300-500 words, presentation title, and a short 50+ word summary of your professional experience are due by July 1st, 2023. Your anonymized submission will be reviewed by a panel of experts in the field of language revitalization, and decisions will be released the following month on August 1st, 2023.
We look forward to seeing you at ICILDER 2023!
