The 7th Conference of the International Association for Silk Road Studies
“The Role of Higher Education in the Era of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data: Challenges and Opportunities.”
Submission Guidelines
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following paper categories are welcome:
1.Articles
Research articles. This category covers papers which report on any type of research undertaken by the author(s). The research may involve the construction or testing of a model or framework, action research, testing of data, market research or surveys, empirical, scientific or clinical research.
Technical articles. Describes and evaluates technical products, processes or services.
Conceptual articles These papers will not be based on research but will develop hypotheses. The articles are likely to be discursive and will cover philosophical discussions and comparative studies of others' work and thinking.
Case study. Case studies describe actual interventions or experiences within organizations. They may well be subjective and will not generally report on research. A description of a legal case or a hypothetical case study would also fit into this category.
Literature review. A survey of the literature on a particular topic, which summarizes past research, outlines recent advances and evaluates the body of knowledge.
Article submissions should be between 3000 and 8000 words in length.
2. Poster Presentation
A poster presentation provides a relaxed presentation atmosphere in which the presenter uses a poster pinned to a poster board to illustrate their research. Presenters will often engage with interested participants on a one-to-one basis, providing excellent opportunities for networking, discussion and relationship building.
Presenters in the poster session will have the option of using physical or electronic display (ePoster)
a) (Physical) Poster dimensions

Posters should not exceed the following dimensions: 120 cm wide x 160 cm tall (approx. 47 x 63 inches). Posters will be placed on a standard 120 cm x 160 cm poster board.
Instructions for displaying physical posters
- Language: All Posters should be prepared in English.
- The person(s) presenting the poster must take responsibility for bringing it to the designated venue and hanging it up in good time before the poster session begins. It is your responsibility to remove the poster before the end of the conference; otherwise it will be taken down and disposed of by the organizers.
- All posters will be on display for a full day, giving all conference participants several opportunities to browse through the poster display.
- All conference participants will have an opportunity to vote for the best poster and the winner(s) of the best poster award will be announced during the closing.
- The oral poster presentations are 15 minutes total, with a maximum of 10 minutes to present followed by a minimum of 5 minutes for discussion. The chairperson will be instructed to keep close track of the presenters’ timing.
b) ePosters. An E-poster is an electronic poster displayed on computer screens instead of printed on paper as a traditional poster
- Language: All ePosters should be prepared in English.
- File format: PDF or .pptx
- E-Poster size in pixel: 1080 width x 1536 height – portrait orientation
- E-Poster size in cm: 38,1 width x 54,2 height – portrait orientation
- Font size: ≥16
- Hyperlinks, animated images and animations are not permitted for E-Posters and will be non-functioning.
- The ePoster presentations are 15 minutes total, with a maximum of 10 minutes to present followed by a minimum of 5 minutes for discussion
- All ePosters will be displayed during for a full day in the dedicated ePoster area at CUD.
