The conference ECONOMIC THEORY AND PRACTICE 2017 [ETAP 2017] is an anniversary conference that is organized on the occassion on the 40th year of the Faculty of Economics of Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica. The conference is devoted to contemporary theoretical and practical issues of economics and its ambition is to gather representatives of academic community and economic practice in order to achieve a synergy. On one hand, the conference is intended to provide a mechanism of mutual dissemination of scientific knowledge among those for whom it may be beneficial in their decisions and everyday business; and on the other hand, it gives a special opportunity for those whose professional life is tied with economics to discuss the problems they face. The conference is designated to cover major fields of economics and might be attractive to scholars, researchers, corporate and government executives, managers, graduates or any professionals who have graduated from a study program in economics. The conference covers especially this foursome of fields:
- Business economics and management,
- Economic theory,
- Finance and banking,
- Public economics
- Regional development and public administration,
- Tourism.
Submission Guidelines
Only original papers can be submitted and presented during the conference. Every author sending his or her paper is declaring originality of it. Each paper passing successfully the review process included in the proceedings will be published online.
The paper must be prepared directly either in the Microsoft ® Word template that is published at the conference web site http://www.etap.umb.sk and all instructions must be respected if the paper be eligible for publication in the proceedings. The required length of the paper is from 8 to 10 pages. The paper must refer to the current level of knowledge and must use relevant references in it. The required number of references is between 6 and 20. The numbering of pages must remain automatic as it is in the template. When preparing equations or formulas in Microsoft ® Word, the Equation facility of Microsoft ® Word 2007/2010/2013 is prohibited and must not be used. Instead, equations may be written directly or using the older Microsoft Equation 3 capability (Insert/Object/Microsoft Equation 3).
For initial submission for the review process, the paper must be submitted anonymized without any identifiers. The text must not contain the names and affiliations of the author(s) or any other information that can directly identify the author(s) (e.g. number of the grant supporting the research). The final version of the paper after positive reviews will be uploaded later with full information. Although the removal of identifiers is the sole responsibility of the author(s), the papers shall be checked for their anonymity and compatibility.

The collection of papers will be sent to Clarivate Analytics (formerly Thomson Reuters) to be considered for inclusion into the Citation Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI), a part of the Web of Science™ Core Collection database.
Venue
The conference will be held on the presmises of the Faculty of Economics of Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica in the heart of Slovakia.
