The mobile communication and network technologies are fast evolving, the prime focus being augmenting a higher data rate and ubiquitous coverage to various kinds of technologies such as vehicular, IoT, and user communication. In order to achieve this goal, the fifth generation cellular network (5G) is a gambit of advanced technologies such as the use of carrier aggregation, network slicing, Cloud radio access network (C-RAN), and software-defined radio (SDR).
The workshop is intended to look at all the aspects and technologies which will contribute to bringing the heterogeneous technologies under an umbrella. We shall focus on the following key-players of the next generation converged network: Architecture for the next generation converged network with the focus on 5G, millimeter waves, SDN/NFV as C-plane for network convergence, visible light communication/LiFi, Software defined radio.
Topics of interest:
1. Architecture for Converged Network
2. 5G cellular networks
3. Visible Light Communication/Li-Fi
4. Dynamic and opportunistic networks
5. Role of SDN/NFV for network convergence
Submission Guidelines
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following paper categories are welcome:
Original submissions are invited for ENCoS 2019 PhD forum in the areas mentioned above. Authors must submit their ideas through Easychair (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=encos2019) on before 31st March 2019. Submissions should be in two-column format and must not exceed 4 pages with minimum 10-pt font size, including figures and references. The paper should describe the main motivation and results (if any) in sufficient detail to allow the reviewers to assess the potential contribution of the work. The paper should be authored by at least one active Ph.D. students (typically those who are in the early stage of their PhD.). A set of 5-7 keywords should accompany the paper. The paper will not be archived, and the authors would not need to sign the IEEE copyright form. Forum papers will be reviewed by the TPC and only selected work can be presented in the conference. However, the selected abstracts will not appear in IEEE-Explore. Submitted abstracts should be unpublished and not under review for any other publication and if selected the authors must present their work at the conference. Authors may include the following sections as a part of their paper:
1. Abstract (150 Words)
2. Introduction
3. Related Works
4. Motivation
5. Methodology
6. Results (if any)
7. Conclusion and future works
