The conference Data Science for Low-Energy Buildings 2018 aims to facilitate the exchange and share of ideas in the fields of energy use in buildings and data science. The event will have representation from industry and academia and will cover the common ground of these two important disciplines. With this, it is intended to facilitate an interdisciplinary arena in which the participants will be able to discuss their most recent findings, the recent innovations, and the trends that this field of study has shown in the last years.
Topics
Authors are solicited to contribute to the conference by submitting articles that illustrate research results, projects, surveying works and industrial experiences that describe significant advances in the area of sustainable buildings.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Data infrastructure
• Sensoring hardware
• Monitoring techniques
• Data and policy
• Data as the result of human behaviour
• Buildings and data
• City scale monitoring
• The weather as a source of uncertain data
Submission Guidelines
REVIEW OF COMPLETE PAPERS
The complete papers must go through a double-blind review process (the manuscripts submitted for review must NOT include the authors’ name and details). The papers accepted must be revised before their publication in the Conference proceedings.
CRITERIA FOR ORAL PRESENTATIONS OF PAPERS
Oral presentations will be 10 minutes long plus 5 minutes for discussion and questions. The criteria for the acceptance of papers will be as follows:
- Scientific and technological interest: level of innovation, advancement of knowledge, relationship with the topic areas of the conference, originality of the proposal
- Interest for/applicability to the sector
- Technical quality: composition, clarity, technical argumentation, etc.
- Cooperation: participation of different organizations (universities, research centres, businesses, etc).
CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS
Conference Proceedings will be available on the first day of the Conference and they will be edited by the University of Murcia in a volume with ISBN.
JOURNAL SPECIAL ISSUE
Selected papers presented at the conference will be invited to a special issue of the following journals:
