The School of Business and Law at CQUniversity, is delighted to host the 29th Annual Council for Australasian Tourism and Hospitality Education (CAUTHE) Conference, 11-14 February, 2019. The first CAUTHE conference to be held in tropical, Far North Queensland, Australia, will showcase the extensive opportunities for engagement with the major tourism hub of Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef.
CAUTHE’s 2019 theme ‘Sustainability of Tourism, Hospitality and Events in a Disruptive Digital Age’ explores how the industry can implement change sustainably in the digital era to ensure social, cultural, economic and natural environments continue to benefit. The first stream of the conference is dedicated to exploring innovative approaches and the strategic thinking needed to adapt and implement processes and practices in order to achieve such sustainability within the digital expansion around tourism. Building upon this stream, we invite delegates to examine specific facets of this challenge through demand side, supply side and research and theory development.
Submission Guidelines
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference.
Full research papers, working research papers, poster presentations and research higher degree candidate papers are welcomed via a number of topics relevant to the conference theme 'Sustainability of Tourism, Hospitality and Events in a Disruptive Digital Age'. The key themes and topics for the conference are developed around the three pillars of a sustainable tourism, hospitality and events industries in a digital age and are listed below. Papers in other areas related to tourism, hospitality and events are also welcomed.
We seek innovative contributions that focus on how tourism, hospitality and events are experienced and developed. We encourage papers on teaching, curriculum and pedagogical research, as well as theoretical and empirical studies relating to tourism, hospitality and events.

Located in the heart of tropical Cairns, this contemporary and elegant hotel reflects the ambience and spirit of Far North Queensland, while offering magnificent vistas of the harbour, city and mountains. The Pullman Cairns International is within walking distance to the casino, cruise terminal, railway station and shopping centres, including the night markets.
