11 September 2018, Institute for Philosophy and Sociology, Polish Academy of Sciences (IFiS PAN), Warsaw PL
Chair: Jacky Visser, Centre for Argument Technology, University of Dundee UK
This workshop invites extended abstracts on ongoing research in the philosophical study of argumentation, with a particular focus on research that bridges traditional areas of philosophy and computational approaches to argumentation. Areas of interest include (but are not limited to):
- moral philosophy and ethics
- epistemology
- practical reasoning
- formal and informal logic
- philosophy of science
- philosophy of technology
- philosophy of language and linguistics
- (pragma-)dialectics
- rhetoric
Note that the workshop is intended to be a forum for dissemination and discussion of work that is not necessarily fully matured. Hence the reviewing process will be relatively lightweight.
We welcome extended abstracts of no more than two pages, plus an additional page for references. Authors should prepare their submission following the instructions given by IOS Press and should include their names and affiliations. Submissions should follow the guidelines normally associated with short papers, and thus focus on outlining the motivation and significance of the work described, while giving only a brief overview of any technical contributions.
