The 2nd XoveTIC Conference, organised by the University of A Coruña Centre for ICT Research (CITIC), is a platform for young pre- and post-doctoral researchers in ICT from universities in Galicia and northern Portugal to present short papers and posters on the work they are doing. The aim of the conference is to complement and enhance young researchers’ training by providing them with a space for scientific debate and exchange.
This year, XoveTIC has been organised in collaboration with the 27th European Signal Processing Conference, EUSIPCO 2019. Speakers and guests will include international leaders in ICT research and industry.
Registration for the conference is free and represents an ideal opportunity for young researchers to share their experiences and network in a friendly, collaborative atmosphere.
Submission Guidelines
- The conference will include a number of oral presentation sessions and a single poster exhibition session. The management committee, in consultation with the scientific committee, will decide on the form of presentation (oral or poster) for each contribution. All presenters will be notified in advance of the committee’s decision. Acceptance of proposals may be conditional upon improvements being made to the work as specified by the reviewers.
- Anybody interested in participating in the conference should submit an abstract (max. 500 words) by 22 May 2019. Abstracts should state the area of research involved, and may be written in Galician, Portuguese, Spanish or English.
- Each proposal will be assessed by two members of the scientific committee in order to determine its relevance to the conference themes and decide on which type of presentation (oral or poster) to recommend. Proposals may be selected for oral presentation or poster exhibition, or be rejected.
- The list of contributions selected for presentation or exhibition will be published on the conference website on 1 June 2019.
- Researchers selected for participation (oral presentation or poster) will be required to submit an extended summary of their contribution by 15 July 2019. Summaries should be written in English and follow the manuscript guidelines for the conference.
- All contributions selected for the conference will be published with an individual DOI in a book of proceedings (published by MDPI).
- Poster contributions should be submitted in PDF format prior to 15 July in order to allow for printing if necessary. Posters should be laid out vertically (90cm x 120cm) and include the title, name of researcher(s) and university/research centre of origin.
- Posters and oral presentations may be written in any of the conference languages (Galician, Portuguese, Spanish or English). Only the extended summaries submitted for publication in the book of proceedings must be written in English.
