The International Workshop on Artificial Life and Evolutionary Computation aims at bringing together researchers working in Artificial Life and Evolutionary Computation to present and share their research in a multidisciplinary context. The workshop provides a forum for the discussion of new research directions and applications in these fields, where different disciplines could effectively meet. It was first held in 2007 in Sampieri (Ragusa), as the incorporation of two previously separately running workshops (WIVA and GSICE). After the success of the first edition, the workshop was organized in the following years in Venice (2008), Naples (2009), Parma (2012), Milan (2013), Vietri (2014), Bari (2015), Salerno (2016), Venice (2017), Parma (2018), Rende (2019), and Zurich (2021).

Publication
The Proceedings of the previous editions of Wivace have been published in Springer's Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS) proceedings series, which is abstracted/indexed in DBLP, Google Scholar, EI-Compendex, Mathematical Reviews, SCImago, Scopus. CCIS volumes are also submitted for the inclusion in ISI Proceedings. For further information on CCIS, have a look at https://www.springer.com/series/7899. We have contacted Springer to publish the proceedings of Wivace 2022 in the same series.
Venue
The 18th International Graphonomics Society Conference will be held at the Angevin-Aragonese Castle of Gaeta – Italy. The City of Gaeta is located in the southern coast of the Lazio region. This stretch of coast, also known as the Ulysses's coast, is pivoted on the Gaeta's Gulf and it is 60 km long. The Ulysses's coast offers some fascinating spots, alternatively low beaches of white sand and sites and sites where rocky cliffs fall sheer to the sea, with the Aurunci Mountains that overlooks the sea at a height of 1500 mt. This makes the Ulysses's Coast a very special place.
