CALL FOR PAPERS: UK-RAS CONFERENCE 2020

On behalf of the Organising and Advisory Committee we take great pleasure in welcoming students, researchers and experts in Robotics to Lincoln for the 3rd UK-RAS Conference for PhD Students & Early-Career Researchers.
The conference is specifically for PhD students & early-career robotics researchers of the UK-RAS Network and will foster progress in the field of robotics research at what promises to be a very comprehensive and exciting meeting.
This year’s theme covers ‘Robots into the Real World‘, exploring how robotics can make a positive difference to societal challenges, from fundamental enabling technologies to real-world applications, such as working in challenging and extreme environments; enabling healthy / independent living; ensuring safe, efficient transport; developing next-generation manufacturing; feeding a growing population and ensuring a safe environment for the future.
The aim of the #UKRAS20 conference is to promote quality research, networking, and community building for PhD students and practitioners at the frontier of science and technology in intelligent robots and systems, by discussing the latest advancements in this fast growing and exciting field.
The call for papers is now open and we are looking for submissions in areas including (but not limited to):
Novel and Emerging Robotics Technologies
Artificial Intelligence and Robotics
Service Robotics
Field Robotics
Awards will be given to the best papers and the authors will be invited to submit an extended version of their paper to TAROS Conference, which is hosted by the Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre for Manufacturing and On-wing Technology at the University of Nottingham on the 22nd – 24th June, 2020.
Paper Submission General Guidelines:
Authors are encouraged to address the following key points in their paper: purpose, originality / value of the paper, design / methodology / approach, results and findings (if paper is empirical), research limitations / implications.
In addition, you may provide up to six keywords which encapsulate the principal topics covers and help categorise your paper.
Paper Submissions:
Length: Maximum of 2 pages
Paper size: A4 (210 mm x 297 mm)
Format: Word or LaTeX
Please download the IEEE Word or LaTeX templates for conference proceedings to use for your submissions, from https://www.ukras.org/news-and-events/uk-ras/call-for-papers/. Submissions must adhere exactly as stated otherwise they will not be accepted.
Late submissions and any not adhering to the specified guidelines will not be accepted.
Review:
All submitted papers will be reviewed by at least three reviewers and will receive a meta review for quality assurance. Papers will be evaluated on the basis of research originality, excellence, significance and relevance.
All accepted presenters will be given free registration to the conference.
If you are submitting a paper for consideration please do not complete registration form until you receive a response accepting or declining your submitted paper.
