WORKSHOP
Blended learning and ICT (Information and Communications Technology) to promote learning in EFL classrooms.
Length: Two hour (approx. 120 min) with no more than 30 participants.
Proposed date: April 5, 2019
Workshop Description
The main goal of this workshop is to blend technology with the traditional classroom learning techniques to form an interactive and entertaining class. As well as enhancing the student-teacher experience of both learning and teaching respectively.
Who is your intended audience?
This workshop targets teachers from all levels of teaching EFL and students engaged in the teaching process.
What form will this workshop take?
The workshop will be of 120 min, the content will be divided between two trainers taking up instruction time of 30 min each. The second half of the two hour workshop will include 15 min of autonomous work where the participants will get a chance to apply the strategies and tools explained aforesaid. The participants will get 45 min to conclude the session by presenting their ideas of the blended learning model. This is an interactive session which requires the use of electronic device. ( i.e. Laptop, Tablet or Mobile phones)
What activities will be involved?
The workshop will focus on the use of ICTS which includes audio visual aids such as PPT’s (Slideshare, Slidely, and Prezi), videos (Youtube), apps (Kahoot, Padlet, Wakelet), online games etc. video makers, streamers (Quicktime, Movie maker, Camtasia). The use of interactive PPT’s to substitute the traditional classroom whiteboard / blackboard teaching. The emphasis would also include the LEARNING DOING approach where the participants will enhance this approach in the activity.

*Participants are required to carry any of the following electronic devices such as laptops, tablets, mobile phones.
This applies only if a computer lab with sufficient amount of working computers is not available.
