IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ
- It is ESSENTIAL that you read all of the instructions below before you submit.
- The Presenting Author must submit the abstract and is required to be the corresponding author for that abstract.
- Abstracts must be submitted in English.
You do not need to register for the Conference prior to submitting an abstract however following acceptance into the programme you must register as soon as possible, but no later than Friday 13 August 2021. Submission Guidelines
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following paper categories are welcome:
- Oral presentation
- Posters
- Workshop/Symposia (60 minutes)
At the review stage, the Scientific Committee may recommend a change in the presentation type submitted by the author, based on the quality of the submission and to ensure the continuity of the conference programme i.e. oral presentation may be changed to poster presentation OR poster presentation to oral presentation. The presenting author will be informed of any change to their submitted presentation type at the acceptance notification stage and can accept/reject. The decision of the Scientific Committee is final.
When submitting your abstract please keep the following criteria in mind:
- Title of the abstract (please keep it short and concise). Titles must be in title case: this means only using capital letters for the principal words. e.g The Title Must Have a Capital Letter at the Start of Every Principle Word). Please do not include titles in the abstract document.
- Indicate your presentation type (oral, poster, workshop/symposia)
- Please choose the theme (listed below) that best aligns with your work. If your theme is not mentioned, please specify it in the abstract and add a keyword.
- Include the name, affiliation, and job title of Presenting Author (this person will act as the main contact for this abstract; this person must be listed as the first author)
- Include the name, affiliation, and job title of co-author(s). Please do not add authors and affiliations to the abstract document in order to facilitate in the blind review.
- Abstract word limit is 400 including references and excluding Title, Authors and Affiliations. Graphs or tables are NOT to be included in the abstract.
- Please specify the corresponding author with whom the conference committee will liaise.
- It is mandatory for all oral presenters to submit a pre-recorded video presentation and a copy of their PPT slides by Friday 13 August 2021 in order to be included in the programme. Full guidance on video submissions will be given to all oral presenters.
- It is mandatory that all poster presenters submit a PDF of their poster by Friday 13 August 2021. Authors who have been invited to participate in poster pitch presentations must submit their 5 minute video summaries by Friday 13 August 2021. Full guidance on video submissions will be given to these poster presenters.
Information under the following sub-headings is required for all Abstract submissions, with the exception of theoretical/discussion papers:

- References (maximum of 3)
Abstracts will be published in the Conference Programme exactly as submitted and no corrections will be made. Please pay particular attention to grammar, spelling and typography.
Format of the conference
The conference will be delivered live, with live key-note presentations. Parallel sessions will take place in multiple rooms where pre-recorded presentations will be played back in real time and authors must be present for a live Q&A for each presentation.
Pre-recorded presentation requirements
Concurrent sessions will be pre-recorded to minimise the risk of technical issues and will be played back in real time on the day followed by a live Q&A. Poster presentations will also be pre-recorded or if preferred, just a PDF file of your poster.
Upon notification of successful submission, authors will receive detailed instructions on how to record and submit their presentations to us.
Oral Format
Oral presentations will be 15 minutes long in total, and a live question and answer session will be facilitated.
Presenters are asked to take note of the following guidelines when producing their oral presentation:
- All oral presenters will need to submit a pre-recorded video of their presentation.
- Video recordings must be submitted in landscape rather than portrait view.
- Videos must be submitted in MP4 format.
- Presenters will be issued best practice video recording guidelines and advised of how and where to send their video presentation upon acceptance of their abstract.
- All accepted oral presenters are required to submit a video recording of their presentation by Friday 13 August 2021.
Poster Format
Accepted posters will be asked to produce a poster for display at the conference.
Following the abstract deadline, a limited number of authors will be invited to submit a 5 minute video presentation describing their work. All poster authors will be included in the poster gallery.
Presenters are asked to take note of the following guidelines when producing their poster:
- Maximum poster size is A0 (0.84 x 1.19m) (portrait orientation).
- Keep text to a minimum.
- Ensure any text is in large font.
- Use graphs, charts, and/or tables.
- Ensure contents have a logical flow.
All accepted poster presenters are required to submit a PDF of their poster by Friday 13 August 2021.
