SPARC is a forum for developing research, offering a space for postgraduate researchers from all disciplines to exchange ideas. Taking part will enable you to actively engage with Salford’s PGR community, while also developing confidence and presentation skills at the same time.
Conference Theme
The theme for this year's conference is 'The Future of Research' and we welcome submissions from all disciplines. You may wish to consider the theme in terms of changing methodologies, innovative public engagement activities, reflective or retrospective views of different research landscapes or something else entirely!
Submission Guidelines
Abstracts for the following categories are welcome:
- Oral Presentations
Presentations will be 7 minutes in length and can be delivered in the traditional format or the Pecha Kucha style. Q&As will take place at the end of each paralell session.
- Poster Presentations
The posters will be on display for the 2 days of the conference, with a dedicated timeslot for judging and people's ballot. Presenters will be expected to be on hand during this timeslot to answer questions about their poster.
- Both an Oral and Poster Presentation
Delegates are welcome to submit an abstract covering both their oral and poster presentations following the guideline above. Please specify if you wish to be considered in both categories.
- Interactive/Performance/Demonstration
Where a non-standard delivery format may apply to your research (eg. performance, games, software, demonstrations of equipment), you may submit into this category for a 15 minute presentation. Please note, powerpoint presentations (or similar) and posters are not permitted in this category. Any special requirements regarding the set up for such presentations are to be sent to sparc@salford.ac.uk as soon as possible.
The organising committee may review and suggest alternative formats based on the number of submissions received in each category.
