Every day, more information moves through social networks. Users publish content in the form of text, images, video, audio or a combination of them to express their opinions, relate facts that are happening at that moment or show situations of interest. This opens up a new line of research, working on the analysis and interpretation of information flowing through social networks. This workshop focuses on the use of intelligent systems for this line of research.
For the creation of an intelligent system that can make use of the information provided by these social sensors, we are faced with several challenges. On the one hand, in the same publication, we can find different types of mixed information, for example, audio, images, text, etc., which can create difficulties for interpretation. On the other hand, you should take into account the large amount of information that comes from social networks and the need to obtain, in many cases, an immediate response.
Considering these difficulties, this Workshop allows us to see the importance of Intelligent Systems applied to Social Media, having scope in many work areas, such as: image, text and acoustic analysis, information fusion strategies, Machine Learning, Data Mining, sentiment analysis, clustering, High Performance and Edge computing techniques, Heuristics Models, etc.
