Call for Papers - Scientific Track (IEEE technically co-sponsored)
Data Science stands at the leading edge of new scientific discoveries and is decisive and omnipresent in our everyday lives. The 7th Swiss Conference on Data Science – SDS2020 – brings together researchers, developers, opinion leaders, decision makers, and innovators with expertise in data science. The goal of SDS2020 is to foster the exchange of novel ideas for data science.
Topics of interest
We invite submissions of original research papers related to all areas of data science, especially best practice and use-case oriented research work with technical depth and practical applicability. We especially want to solicit work in four key areas of the coming year, namely: Data Economy & Products, Digital Health, Robust and Trustworthy Machine Learning and AI for Finance
We also welcome contributions that discuss ethical, legal and social issues (ELSI) of data science; they don’t have necessarily be related to those four topics of interests. The best ELSI contribution will receive a special price funded by the ELSI Task Force of the National Research Programme 75 “Big Data”.
Submission
- Full Paper – present high-quality research contributions, including experiments, analysis, or system papers, as well as descriptions of application results. Each submission can have up to 6 pages incl. references.
- Short Paper – present late-breaking results, work in progress, follow-up extensions, application case studies, or evaluations of existing methods. Each submission can have up to 2 pages incl. references.
All submissions must be original works that have not been published previously in any conference proceedings, magazine, journal, or edited book. The review process will be double blind, therefore we ask authors to take specific care to anonymize their submission reasonably. Concurrent submissions are strictly forbidden. Submission of papers implies intention to register and present the related content at the conference. The international program committee will carefully review the submissions. Excellent content and presentation as demonstrated in the submission are mandatory for acceptance. Accepted submissions will be presented in English (as a talk or a poster)by the authors at the conference. As last year, proceedings of all papers presented at the conference will be submitted for inclusion in the IEEE Xplore digital library (decision pending). All submissions must be formated by following the following the IEEE 8.5” x 11” two-column format.
