Conference Title and Aim
Research Meeting on Institutional and Health talk for Social Applications (RMIH) TOKYO 2019
Though the value of sociolinguistics as an academic entity in the social sciences and humanities has not been doubted, the task of maintaining its importance has burdened each researcher in this field due to the current inclination toward vocational studies. However, revisiting existing approaches and adopting them to current social requirements can be beneficial, especially now that the analysis of big data influences the construction of public opinion.
Discourse analysis as a qualitative approach can be used as a potential tool to set the basis for examination when it comes to what should be counted and why it should be counted, especially in the current trend of mass-data.
In this conference, the approach to analyzing the dementia-related discourse as a genre of institutional discourse will be discussed from the multi-dimensional perspectives in discourse analysis and communicational study, such as in health, genre, organization, education, business, and organizational.
