CALL FOR BOOK CHAPTERS
------------------------
We invite high-quality chapters for an edited book on Predictive analytics using statistics and big data: concepts and modelling
A book to be published by Bentham Science and edited by:
- Dr. K. K. Mohbey, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, Central University of Rajasthan, India
- Dr. Arvind Pandey, Associate Professor, Department of Statistics, Central University of Rajasthan, India
- Dr. Dharmendra Singh Rajput, Associate Professor, School of Information Technology and Engineering, VIT, Vellore (TN), India
OVERVIEW
------------------------
Predictive analytics is the art and science to proposed predictive systems and models. These models, with tuning over time, can then predict an outcome with a far higher statistical probability than mere guesswork. Predictive analytics plays an essential role in the digital era. Most of the business strategies and planning depends on prediction and analytics using statistical approaches. As the increasing digitization day by day, analytical challenges are also increasing at the same rate. The digital information, which is rapidly growing, generating big data, hence the design of computing, storage infrastructures, and algorithms needed to handle this “big data” problems. Big Data is the collection and analysis of data that are complex in terms of the volume, variety, and velocity. The most extensive selection of big data is from digital information, social media, IoT, sensor, etc.
Predictive analytics can be done with the help of various big data technologies and statistical approaches. Big data technologies include Hadoop, Hive, HBase, and Spark. While analytical methods are used to collect, analyses and understand data. There are various statistical approaches to perform predictive analytics, which includes Bayesian analysis, Sequential analysis, Statistical prediction, risk prediction, and decision analytics.
List of Topics
-
This book solicits contributions which includes predictive analytics for big data and statistics. Each chapter is expected to be self-contained and cover an in- depth analysis of modelling for big data and statistical analysis.
We welcome book chapter contributions on the following (but are not limited to) themes:
- System design, modelling, and evaluation for predictive analytics
- Integration of Business Model with Big Data Analytics
- Linear regression modelling and diagnostics
- The recent development in predictive analysis
- Big data framework for predictive analytics
- Challenges and solutions for big data
- Exploratory data analysis in data science
- Statistical machine learning methods for big data handling
- Risk analysis and modeling
Submission Guidelines
Each chapter proposal should be between 7,500 - 10,000 words. There are no strict formatting requirements, but all manuscripts must contain the essential elements needed to convey your manuscript, for example Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Conclusions, and Tables with Captions.
Chapters will be reviewed by 2 to 3 reviewers. If you intend to submit a chapter, Please send your one-page write up (with abstract of 300- 500 words and 6 keywords) of your chapter along with tentative Table of Contents to kmohbey@gmail.com with the subject “Predictive analytics using statistics and big data: concepts and modeling -Book Chapter” on or before 25th February 2020. Upon acceptance of the proposal, further instructions for submission guidelines according to the Bentham Science will be communicated.
