The Pacific Asia Conference on Information Systems (PACIS) is a premier information systems conference in the Asia Pacific region and now officially an Association for Information Systems (AIS) conference. PACIS serves to provide a platform for Information Systems and Information Technology academics and professionals to share their research findings, ideas and practices in a high quality annual forum. This 21st edition of PACIS will be held in Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa Langkawi, Malaysia. This will be the second time PACIS will be hosted in Malaysia after the 10th PACIS was successfully held in Kuala Lumpur in 2006. The 3-day conference will be preceded by a doctoral consortium, workshops and relevant meetings. PACIS 2017 will be organized by the Malaysia Chapter of the Association for Information Systems (MyAIS) and hosted by the Department of Information Systems, School of Computing (SOC), Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM).
Submission Guidelines
All papers submitted must be in English.
The paper must fit in one of the conference tracks. If your paper is suitable for more than one track, please choose the most relevant track for the study, i.e. the one to which it contributes most.
Make sure your paper is formatted as required by PACIS 2017.
Submission Type
There are two types of submissions: (1) completed research papers and (2) research-in-progress papers.
For completed research papers, it is expected that all data for the study have been collected and analyzed, with the findings and their implications fully documented. This type of paper is usually close to journal submission. Authors of accepted papers in this category will present their research in one of the parallel sessions.
Research-in-progress papers report research that is promising but incomplete. They are usually either at the theorizing or analysis stage. Consequently, the papers generally include either no findings (for studies at the theorizing stage) or preliminary findings (for studies at the analysis stage). Authors of accepted papers in this category will need to bring poster-size presentations (in Large Type format) for display at a special session.
Length of Submission
Completed research papers must not exceed twelve (12) single-spaced pages and research-in-progress papers must not exceed six (6) single-spaced pages. The page limit includes the cover page (which contains the title, abstract and keywords), all text, figures, tables, references and appendices. In case of discrepancy between the information on the website and on the submission template, please use the information on the website. You maybe using an older version of the template.
Review Criteria

- The paper addresses an interesting and possibly a more recent IS phenomenon.
- The paper has been well organized to enable the ideas presented to flow logically.
- The paper contains an appropriate review of relevant literature.
- The paper thoroughly describes the research method it employed (only if relevant).
- The paper provides a proper analysis of its data (only if relevant, as RIP papers may not have data analysed).
- The paper discusses the theoretical and practical implications of the findings (RIP papers may discuss the potential implications of the study).
Formatting Guidelines
