Submission deadline | October 25, 2019 |
To precede the popular Aotearoa New Zealand Organisational Psychology and Organisational Behaviour Conference, we are holding a manuscript development workshop the day before. This will be hosted by Helena Cooper-Thomas on Thursday 28th November at AUT.
The aim of the workshop is to help improve the success rate for manuscripts on the verge of being submitted. Thus, the focus will be on final improvements and revisions prior to submission. Manuscripts for the workshop may be either first submissions or may be amended versions after rejection(s).
We will have a maximum of 12 manuscripts to review during the 1-day workshop. All attendees will both submit one manuscript and provide a thorough written and brief oral review on two manuscripts submitted by others, as well as familiarising themselves with all the other submitted papers so that they can participate in discussions throughout the day. Please only apply for this workshop if you are willing to both give and take – that is, you are going to put in the effort to provide useful reviews for others on their manuscripts (including reading those you aren’t assigned) and you have a manuscript that is close to submission standard for review. Note that we will try to match reviewers to papers that we think will sufficiently match their expertise, depending on our final attendee list. Note also that, depending on numbers, we may have space for attendees who are willing to review and participate without submitting a paper; and for co-authors.
If the workshop is over-subscribed, then we will select those papers that seem to us (a) the best quality and therefore closest to submission, so we are helping those in their final phase, or (b) provide what we anticipate being a good mix of attendees, with at least half attendees being seasoned researchers who have experience in writing and reviewing manuscripts, who can provide useful advice. If there are still too many manuscripts, a final selection (c) will be based on those manuscripts that most squarely fit within the remit of OP and OB, in keeping with the conference the next day. But this will be only as a final criterion as we would like this to provide a welcome and collegial workshop, rather than being exclusive. However, criteria need to be available and transparent in case we do need to cut down numbers to achieve a maximum of 12 manuscripts.
The workshop is fully catered including an evening meal to continue collegial conversations.
Submission Guidelines
Manuscripts should be within an 8,000 word limit including references, tables and figures, using Times New Roman 12 point font, double line spacing, and either APA style or the conventions of their intended journal.
