The biomedical data yearns, including a panoply of molecular entities, mobile health devices, electronic health records, consortium level, multi-omic data, for concerted efforts from data, scientists to uncover novel patterns and signatures to provide a better understanding of disease necessary for the translational purpose. This satellite symposium aims to unify the knowledge streams from systems biologists and network data, scientists for maximal utilization of shared resources of biomedical data generated by multi-billion dollar national and international ventures. We expect to attract scientists and practitioners with the penchant to resolve novel patterns using biomedical big data and demonstrate the implementation of the network theory firmament as a bedrock of biomedical big data analysis. The satellite symposium will bring together a number of practitioners in this rapidly emerging area, including both established investigators in network science applied to medicine and experts in biomedical data analysis.
