Overview
Bogazici University Computer Engineering Department announces MSc Workshop in Computing (MWC) as a biannual workshop open to graduate students. In this workshop, the MSc students will submit their papers and PhD students will be evaluating them. Hence, MSc students are encouraged to prepare a scientific document at an acceptable level, and PhD students will improve their skills for a critical review of a scientific document.
Studies from all disciplines are welcome as long as they fall in one of the fields of computing: designing hardware and software systems; processing, managing, transferring various kinds of data and information; doing computational scientific and engineering research. Contributions may be of theoretical or applied nature. Even though MWC is designed for MSc students, PhD students who have not made a publication may also consider to submit their first work to MWC.
All accepted papers will appear in the on-line conference program. Authors of selected high-quality papers will be guided to post their article on the arXiv.org pre-print service. Note that a publication on a pre-print service is not regarded as a prior publication by major publishers such as the IEEE, Elsevier and Springer.
Submission Guideline
Each submission must be in English and six pages long in the two-column IEEE Conference format (Latex users should select conference option of the IEEEtran document class). Papers must be submitted electronically through EasyChair as a single PDF file on A4 size paper with all fonts embedded.
This workshop adopts the double-blind review policy. This means that both the reviewer and author identities are hidden throughout the review process. Prior to submission, the authors must ensure that their manuscript does not give away their identity. You can find a guideline here. Reviewers will be announced at the on-line conference proceedings.
Submissions with the following flaws will be declined without being sent for review:
- very poor English language
- very poor paper organization or an incomplete paper
- papers shorter than five pages or longer than seven pages.
- papers with author names, affiliations and e-mail addresses.
Review Process
The review process will be carried out by the PhD students with at least one peer-reviewed publication. In case of need, we may ask help from PhD graduates. A review guideline will be sent to the reviewers. Please fill this form if you want to be contacted as a reviewer.
