Introduction

The livestock Industry did not escape the devastating effects and unpredictability of the Covid-19 pandemic. The Covid-19 pandemic negatively influences animal production through reducing access to animal feeds, inputs and services as well as markets and consumers. It also reduced animal processing capacity and compromised storage ability which in turn disrupted the supply chain. Animal diseases surveillance and reporting were also disrupted with national animal disease control programmes being reduced or suspended. As the socio-economic status and purchasing trends of many consumers were also affected, the market for livestock products also changed causing chaos with over supply and increased food loss and waste.

How should livestock industry be mit igated during and post-covid-19 era? What lessons should the livestock sector learn to improve its resilience and be more sustainable in the future? With bigger threat from climate change dawning on us, solutions are greatly needed. The 40th Malaysian Society of Animal Production (MSAP) Conference aims to d issect these critical issues to ensure the nation's livestock sector remained resilient. The conference will provide a platform for academic discussion on various fields including genetics, nutrition, farm management, animal health and welfare, utilization of technologies, halal feeds, organic farming, conservation, globa l climate change, green technology, circular economy and sustainable livestock production. The 40th conference will be an online conference with additional farmers session to bring more transfer of knowledge to empower the key players of the livestock sector.

Guide for submission

All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. 

Contributors for the poster are required to prepare an extended abstract in English and should not exceed 2 pages.

The extended abstract should contain Title, Author(s), Affiliation(s), Extended Abstract and Reference.

At the title, please include types of submission at the beginning whether poster or oral.

Eg: [POSTER] The Aftereffect of Covid-19 Pandemic in Ruminant Industry OR [ORAL] The Aftereffect of Covid-19 Pandemic in Ruminant Industry.
