We would like to invite you to participate in a three-day workshop on autism research, taking place from November 21 to 23, 2019 in Brussels.
The Marguerite-Marie Delacroix Support Fund, a private fund supporting both fundamental and applied research, has offered to finance for the second time a three-day interdisciplinary workshop, in which Belgian researchers can interact with international top researchers in different fields of autism research. The first editions took place in Leuven in 2011 and Ghent in 2016 and met a great success.
We have invited top-level international researchers who have a broad view of the current research in autism, encompassing their own specific topics as well as adjacent fields. The following experts have confirmed their attendance: Bhismadev Chakrabarty (University of Reading, UK), Pierre Gressens (Université de Paris Diderot, Fr), Francesca Happé (King’s College, London, UK), Courtenay Norbury (University College London, UK), Kevin Pelphrey (George Washington University, USA). They will present a state of the art in their own field and in particular the key questions they see, while the Belgian researchers will present the local research lines, results, and questions. In this way, we hope to foster interaction that should benefit autism research in Belgium and lead to future collaborations.
We invite you to participate activelyby presenting your research plan, ongoing work or findings in the field of autism, either in oral or poster presentations. You will also have the possibility to have a scientific discussion in a small group with one of the experts of your choice. In order to maximize the exchanges between external and local researchers, all participants are required to attend the whole workshop, thus from November 21 to 23 (noon), 2019. There is no fee for participation.
