MDA - Mediterranean Design Association
Technological innovation, environmental quality, historical and cultural factors relating to the territory are the fundamental elements on which to found the process of evolution and transformation of the space. The design research establishes new ways of balancing the anthropic transformations and the surrounding environment, considered in the complexity of its definition. The MDA network is made up of researchers, designers, corporate members and institutions who are daily involved in the transmission of knowledge related to the problems concerning the improvement of the quality of life. MDA is an association that deals with training, informing, activating and disseminating research in the field of Environmental Design and related disciplines and thematic areas.
MDA Conference
MDA periodically organises a conference which is open to researchers from around the world interested in contributing to the development of the debate on quality of life improvement. The conferences held in Agrigento in 2015 and in Turin in 2017 were attended by researchers with multidisciplinary backgrounds: architecture, design, engineering, medicine, aesthetics and agriculture. The results were published on the association's website (http://mda.center).
The Conference represents an opportunity to illustr ate the MDA’s research and design activities in the field of Environmental Design. The primary objective is to promote the knowledge of complex processes in the presence of a transversal corpus of disciplines.

Evaluation of Contributions
Contributions can be presented in English, Italian or Spanish; each contribution will be subjected to a scientific evaluation with the double-blind peer review system. The oral reports will be conducted in English, Italian or Spanish.

Abstract submission guidelines
- Title: maximum 40 characters
- Key word: 5 max
- Authors: the main (presenting) author's name should be marked with an asterisk (*)
- Authors and their corresponding affiliation should be indicated with numbers.
- Text: no more than 1500-2000 characters
- Single spacing should be used throughout
A scientific committee and scientific advisors will review the abstracts and you will be notified whether you have been successful; Abstracts submitted, but not chosen for oral presentation can be listed as poster presentations. You will be advised of the duration, time and day of your presentation or dimensions of poster board.
Full Paper submission guidelines
- Title: maximum 40 characters
- Key word: 5 max
- Abstract: 1500-2000 characters maximum
- Text: no more than 22000 characters, note and references included (both inserted at he bottom of the paper)
- References: APA Style
Please note that Full Paper will be blind and cannot contain none indication regards author(s).
Full Paper Print submission guidelines (open only for accepted full paper)
As the Full Paper, the Full Paper Print need to have:
- Title: maximum 40 characters
- Key word: 5 max
- Abstract: 1500-2000 characters maximum
- Text: no more than 22000 characters, note and references included (both inserted at he bottom of the paper)
- References: APA Style
Full Paper Print have to be no-blind and should include all author's references inside the text.
Please note that for the final pubblication author must provide english version of the entire paper
Additional guidelines
- Images: no more than 5 for each Full Print Paper (TIFF or JPG, 300dpi). Images must contain proper captions following this scheme: name, author, year
