THE 11TH KNOWLEDGE CITIES WORLD SUMMIT KCWS-2018
20-22 NOVEMBER 2018, TENERIFE, CANARY ISLANDS, SPAIN KNOWLEDGE ISLANDS Organised by the World Capital Institute, Universidad de La Laguna and the Humboldt Cosmos Multiversity
The 11th Knowledge Cities World Summit (KCWS-2018) will be held in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. Tenerife is the largest and most populated island of the seven Canary Islands. The island receives about five million tourists annually, and it is one of the most important tourist destinations in Spain and the world. Tenerife has been investing on knowledge economy for quite some time and the summit will help strengthening its knowledge island endeavour and strategies.
The Summit aims to contribute to the discussion on the importance and trends of knowledge-based development theory and practice. Academics, professional practitioners, civil servants and policymakers of the world are included in the discussions from a wide range of disciplines to share their knowledge and experiences with the summit delegates. In addition to significant academic and professional presentations, the Summit will also provide opportunities for practical exercises in workshops and small group sessions in innovative formats.
As part of the KCWS-2018, a ‘PhD Consortium’ is planned to provide postgraduate research students an invaluable opportunity to present, discuss and get feedback on their research projects from the international experts of their fields. Training session for practicing professionals and civil servants are also planned to take place immediately before the summit in the form of continuous professional education (CPE) training.
This year’s Program shall focus on “Knowledge Islands”.
The prominent Annual MAKCi Awards Ceremony will be held on Tuesday 20th.
