Originated in Malaysia, enhanced under the bilateral collaboration between Malaysia and Japan, iDECON (International Conference on Design and Concurrent Engineering) is now expanding to the collaboration among countries in East and South Asia. In this year, this conference will be held from September 1st to 2nd at Keio University, Yokohama, JAPAN, as iDECON/MS (International Conference on Design and Concurrent Engineering & Manufacturing Systems Conference) 2023, to provide an international forum for researchers, engineers, industrial practitioners. A wide variety of topics related to design, concurrent engineering and manufacturing systems are welcome in iDECON/MS to facilitate sharing recent research results and trends among the participants and to explore the future directions.

Wide variety of research on design, concurrent engineering, and manufacturing systems are welcome to be presented,which include CAD/CAM/CAE, Reliability in Design, Ergonomics in Design, Virtual Engineering, VR/AR Application, Kansei/Emotional Design, Human Interface and Usability, Rapid Prototyping, Educational Engineering, Reverse Engineering, Automation and Intelligent Systems, Mechatronics Systems, Manufacturing Systems, Machining Systems, Features Based Technology, Green Design, Sustainable Design and Manufacturing, Sustainable Materials in Design, Composite Product Design, Operation Management, Lean Manufacturing,Supply Chain Management, AI/IoT Application, Logistics, Material Handling, Warehousing, Global Manufacturing Management, etc.

Papers should describe original and unpublished work. They should be written in English. Regular papers (5-10 pages) and Short papers (2-4 pages) are welcome to be submitted. Template files are available via the official web page of the conference.

Each paper submission will be peer-reviewed, and accepted papers will be included in the conference preprints without copyright transfer agreements. They will be provided only to all registrants of the conference.

The accepted papers must be orally presented, requiring at least one author to be registered in the conference.

Presented papers the authors of which have agreed to transfer the copyright to JSME (the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers) will be published in the conference proceedings, which will be provided to all registrants and also distributed/sold to others.

Selected papers from regular papers will be recommended to a special issue of Journal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing (JAMDSM) published by JSME.

Submission Guidelines

All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following paper categories are welcome:

• Regular papers: 5-10 pages
• Short papers: 2-4 pages

Selected papers from regular papers will be recommended to a special issue of the following journal published by JSME:
