The IWBBIO 2024 (11th International Work-Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedical Engineering) seeks to continue the good synergy obtained in the previous edition, providing a discussion forum for scientists, engineers, educators and students about the latest ideas and realizations in the foundations, theory, models and applications for interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research encompassing disciplines of computer science, mathematics, statistics, biology, bioinformatics, and biomedicine.
The aims of IWBBIO 2024 is to create a friendly environment that could lead to the establishment or strengthening of scientific collaborations and exchanges among attendees, and therefore, IWBBIO 204 solicits high-quality original research papers (including significant work-in-progress) on any aspect of Bioinformatics, Biomedicine and Biomedical Engineering.
New computational techniques and methods in machine learning; data mining; text analysis; pattern recognition; data integration; genomics and evolution; next generation sequencing data; protein and RNA structure; protein function and proteomics; medical informatics and translational bioinformatics; computational systems biology; modelling and simulation and their application in life science domain, biomedicine and biomedical engineering are especially encouraged.
Submission Guidelines
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following paper categories are welcome:
- Full papers
Full Paper Contributions
Full papers should contain 12-14 pages in its final version according to Lecture Notes in Bioinformatics (LNBI) format of Springer-Verlag format. Extraordinarily, other two additional pages could be considered with a supplementary fee.
We encourage authors of full paper to include their ORCIDs in the contribution. Authors should consult Springer’s authors’guidelines and use their proceedings templates, either for LaTeX or for Word for the preparation of their papers. Springer encourages authors to include their ORCIDs in their papers. In addition, the corresponding author of each paper, acting on behalf of all of the authors of that paper, must complete and sign a Consent-to-Publish form. The corresponding author signing the copyright form should match the corresponding author marked on the paper. Once the files have been sent to Springer, changes relating to the authorship of the papers cannot be made.
Springer’s proceedings LaTeX templates are available in Overleaf. For any question, please CONTACT US.
All accepted full papers will be published under Lecture Notes in Bioinformatics (tentative). LNBS is included in ISI Conference Proceedings Citation Index (Thompson Reuters) and DBLP database. The number of contributions that an author can have in LNBI in this edition of IWBBIO is limited to a maximum of three (conditions of Springer)
- Abstract
Abstract submissions are also accepted (at least two pages in LNCS format). Abstracts must be submitted directly in the EasyChair platform. Once they have been accepted, a selection of high quality abstracts can be extended before final papers submission deadline as full paper. Authors of accepted abstract should contact, by email to IWBBIO@ugr.es, indicating their interest in completing the extension to full paper.
