The IWBBIO 2018 (6th International Work-Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedical Engineering) seeks to continue the good synergy obtained in the previous edition, providing a discussion forum for scientists, engineers, educators and students about the latest ideas and realizations in the foundations, theory, models and applications for interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research encompassing disciplines of computer science, mathematics, statistics, biology, bioinformatics, and biomedicine.
The aims of IWBBIO 2018 is to create a friendly environment that could lead to the establishment or strengthening of scientific collaborations and exchanges among attendees, and therefore, IWBBIO 2018 solicits high-quality original research papers (including significant work-in-progress) on any aspect of Bioinformatics, Biomedicine and Biomedical Engineering.
New computational techniques and methods in machine learning; data mining; text analysis; pattern recognition; data integration; genomics and evolution; next generation sequencing data; protein and RNA structure; protein function and proteomics; medical informatics and translational bioinformatics; computational systems biology; modelling and simulation and their application in life science domain, biomedicine and biomedical engineering are especially encouraged.
Submission Guidelines
Authors must submit an original contribution in English, carefully checked for correct grammar and spelling. Please, use our Easychair submission system to upload your contribution.
There are two different categories for submissions:
1.- Full paper contributions
Full papers should contain 10-12 pages in its final version according to the Lecture Notes in BIoinformatics (LNBI) format of Springer-Verlag format. Extraordinarily, other two additional pages could be considered with a supplementary fee.
Templates for full papers are provided in LaTeX and Microsoft Word formats. Please, read carefully guidelines and instructions for authors that are included at Springer site. Authors must strictly follow the provided format to submit their contributions. For any question, please CONTACT US.
All accepted full papers will be published under Lecture Notes in Bionformatics (LNBI) (tentative, confirmation required). The registration, before the deadline, is mandatory for the publication in the LNBI proceedings. These contributions will be indexed in the main indexing platforms, for instance, ISI Conference Proceedings Citation Index (Thompson Reuters) and DBLP database.
2.-Abstract contributions
Abstract submissions are also accepted (at least two pages in LNBI format). Abstracts must be submitted directly in the EasyChair platform. Once they have been accepted, a selection of high quality abstracts can be extended before final papers submission deadline as full paper. Authors of accepted abstract should contact, by email to iwbbio@ugr.es, indicating their interest in completing the extension to full paper. All accepted abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings, under both ISBN and ISSN references.
