Submission deadline | April 12, 2019 |
The III IWADA will be an event of international character and will have the participation of researchers from different countries, mainly from Europe. Teachers, researchers and students from various national and international institutions should attend the event, not only for presentations of papers and mini-courses, but also for lectures and round tables. These participations are extremely important for the exchange of scientific and technological information in the field of dielectric materials and sensors and their applications, promoting the integration of knowledge among universities, research centers, companies in the electrical sector and manufacturers of materials and equipment.
IWADA in its first version took place in the dependencies of the Federal University of Paraiba and in the second version at the University of São Paulo in São Carlos. In IWADA III, unlike previous versions, technical-scientific articles will be selected for presentations in the oral format, and transmitted by videoconference to the other transmission centers located in Brazil or abroad. It is expected that 60 scientific articles will be selected in the subject areas of the event.
Submission Guidelines
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The paper length must be between 4 - 6 page, and the papers will be accepted in English or Portuguese idiom. Since the submission process will be conducted in a simplified model (directly at easy chair submission system), there are no reviewing processes. Then, in order to ensure the quality of the published papers, the paper must be submitted jointly with a commitment statement, signed by a renowned researcher or responsible supervisor, ensuring that the paper has significant content for IWADA and that was carefully reviewed according to the instructions presented in the IWADA template.

Invited Speakers
Manu Haddad
-
Prof Manu Haddad obtained the degree of Ingénieur d’Etat in Electrical Engineering in 1985 and then a PhD in High Voltage Engineering in 1990.
-
Following graduation, he took up a Research Associate position, to carry out investigations on the characterisation of ZnO surge arresters including their very fast transient response. In 1995, he was appointed as a Lecturer and then Senior Lecturer in electrical engineering at Cardiff University, with responsibility for the High Voltage Research Group and lecturing duties in high voltage engineering, power systems, electromagnetics, mathematics and electrical circuits.
-
His research interests are in overvoltage protection, insulation systems, insulation coordination and earthing of electrical energy systems. Prof Haddad has completed several research and consultancy projects in overvoltage protection of electrical networks, polymeric insulation and earthing systems, with funding from industry and EPSRC.
-
He has co-authored over 80 publications, with two paper awards. He has recently published an IEE-Power Series Book on Advances in “High Voltage Engineering”. He is a member of the IEE and CIGRE. Prof Haddad is an active Committee member of the IEE South Wales Power Specialist, the British Standard Institution committees on overvoltage protection of low and high voltage systems BSI PEL1 and PEL2, the International Electrotechnical committees IEC TC37 MT4 and MT10, and a member of the Steering Committee of the International Universities Power Engineering Conference (IUPEC). He is also a founding member of the UK Universities High Voltage network (UHVnet) organising its first colloquium at Cardiff University in Jan 2005.
