The purpose of the current conference is to disseminate up-to-date information on nursing research and its contributions towards improving global health. This will strengthen the professional and public awareness of the nursing profession. It will facilitate dissemination of recent nursing research methodologies and findings, as well as provide opportunity for networking and collaborative activities among nursing practitioners and settings.
Submission Guidelines
The following paper categories are welcome:
- Abstracts describing a research study in any nursing specialty conducted in accordance with the themes and subthemes of the study
- Posters describing a research study in any nursing specialty conducted in accordance with the themes and subthemes of the study

Professor Jean Watson.
Jean Watson, PhD, RN, AHN-BC, FAAN, LL (AAN) Distinguished Professor/Dean Emerita CU Denver CON Founder: Watson Caring Science Institute www.watsoncaringscience.org; jean@watsoncaringscience.org Dr. Jean Watson is Distinguished Professor and Dean Emerita, University of Colorado Denver, College of Nursing Anschutz Medical Center campus, where she held the nation’s first endowed Chair in Caring Science for 16 years. She is founder of the original Center for Human Caring in Colorado and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing; past President of the National League for Nursing; founding member of International Association in Human Caring and International Caritas Consortium. She is Founder and Director of the non-profit foundation, Watson Caring Science Institute (www.watsoncaringscience.org). In 2013 Dr. Watson was inducted as a Living Legend by the American Academy of Nursing, its highest honor.

Professor Bernie carter
Prof Bernie Carter is a children’s nurse and she’s been asking questions about how best to care for children and their families for more than 45 years. She’s Professor of Children’s Nursing at Edge Hill University, a Clinical Professor, University of Tasmania, Australia and Adjunct Professor of Nursing, Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand. Much of Bernie’s research is qualitative, narrative, appreciative, participatory and arts/activities based. She is passionate about undertaking, implementing and disseminating research as she believes it can and does contribute to making things better for children and their families. She uses dance, performance, imagery, animation and the power of the written and spoken word to help disseminate her work. Bernie’s current research portfolio includes chronic pain in children and young people, falls in children with cerebral palsy, addressing inequalities in childhood illness, children’s engagement in remote consultations, rolandic epilepsy and its management, parental sleep-related practices.

Professor Lucy Bray
Lucy Bray is a children’s nurse who currently works as Professor of Child Health Literacy at Edge Hill University. Her child-centred work focusses on improving the preparation, education and experiences of children who are having health care procedures.
- Professor Muayyad Ahmad
Muayyad Ahmad, a respected nursing scholar and researcher, has made significant contributions to nursing science through his extensive research and publications. He currently serves as a professor in the Department of Clinical Nursing at the University of Jordan and has held various administrative positions, including Dean of the School of Nursing and head of the Clinical Nursing department. Muayyad Ahmad holds a Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, as well as an MSc and BSc from the University of Jordan. Dr. Ahmad has received numerous national and regional honors, including the Ali Mango Award for Best Research in Medicine and Nursing in Jordan in 2018, the Arab National League Distinguished Professors Award for 2017, and the Distinguished Scientist Award of the Venus International Foundation Research Awards (VIFRA 2015) in Chennai, India. In addition, he was ranked in the top 2% of the world's top one hundred thousand scientists in studies published by Stanford University in October 2020 and October 2021. The University of Jordan also recognized Ahmad's exceptional work by awarding him the distinguished researcher in the Health Schools award for 2013-2014. Currently, he holds the highest H-Index in Scopus and Google Scholar in nursing profession in Jordan, and the second in all Arab countries.
- Professor Edilma Yearwood
Edilma L. Yearwood, PhD, PMHCNS-BC, FAAN, is Associate Professor and faculty in the School of Nursing. She is the Senior Advisor for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging and Anti-Racism. She received her BSN from the University of Connecticut, her MA in Nursing from New York University and her PhD in Nursing from Adelphi University. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Child and Family at New York University and a postdoctoral fellowship in Nursing Research at the University of Pennsylvania. She is a Fellow, American Academy of Nursing (AAN). She has held numerous positions in the International Society of Psychiatric Nurses including serving as President of the organization. She was a Fulbright Senior Specialist from 2007-2012 and did her Fulbright immersion in Jamaica. In January 2022, she became Editor of the journal Archives of Psychiatric Nursing where she leads one of the nationally recognized psychiatric nursing journals. She is a Board member of the Global Alliance for Behavioral Health and Social Justice serving her second term as the elected Board secretary. She is lead editor and contributing author of two textbooks, Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health: A Resource for Advanced Practice Psychiatric and Primary Care Practitioners in Nursing and the Routledge Handbook of Global Mental Health Nursing: Evidence, Practice and Empowerment. Dr. Yearwood teaches mental health nursing, undergraduate research to honors nursing students, and a university-wide health equity course. She was integral in developing the PhD in Nursing Program that will commence in fall of this year and will also teach in that program. Her research interests include mental health of immigrant youth, mood dysregulation, youth empowerment, community-based participatory action, and social determinants of health. She is Project Director of a HRSA grant titled, Nurturing Child Well-Being: Educating Communities on Social Determinants of Health.
