As you certainly know, the 17th International Symposium on Magnetic Bearings will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on August 18-21, 2020. This ISMB17 will be, as all ISMBs have always been, a great opportunity to share experiences, research results, and new perspectives on the event's main themes, listed below.

In the general field of Magnetic Bearings (MBs) the topics of interest for the submission of papers include, but are not limited to:

Prospective authors can choose between three possible ways to participate:
- Research papers: academic style papers on the topics above.
- Applications papers: descriptions of industrial Magnetic Bearings applications of any type.
- Invited Sessions: five (5) papers, centered on a common theme in the topics above.
All selected papers will be orally presented.

Call for Extended Abstracts
Extended Abstracts must be written in English and are limited to 02 (two) A4 sized pages with no less than 15 mm wide top, bottom and side margins using 10 pt or 11 pt sized fonts; apart from these requirements, authors can use a free format. The Extended Abstracts must show contact information (names, affiliations, and e-mails), specific preliminary results, in the graphical form if possible, and a shortlist of bibliographical references, with no more than 5 citations.
General information
- The Extended Abstracts will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee. The decisions will be either acceptance or rejection, with no possibility for appeals.
- Only the PDF versions of the Extended Abstracts should be submitted by authors.
- After the acceptance notification, detailed information will be provided so that authors can type the final versions of their papers.
- The event's executive secretariat will always try to contact the first author whose e-mail is cited in the paper.

The EasyChair submission engine will be used. Authors who completed the typesetting of their Abstracts should visit the main conference site for ISMB17 at

and, if they don't have an account there already, sign up for one. This can be done through the link "If you have no EasyChair account, create an account" located just below the login area.
The actual submission procedure is quite simple and authors should remember
to add the PDF version of their Extended Abstracts only.
