ICSTLL53 will be hosted via ZOOM by the University of North Texas Oct. 2-4, 2020 with a pre-conference meeting of the Computational Resource for South Asian Languages on Oct 1st from 5pm-7pm.
The International Conference on Sino-Tibetan Languages and Linguistics (ICSTLL) is the premier meeting for linguistic researchers on Sino-Tibetan language family, a family with over 400 languages and second only to IndoEuropean in numbers of speakers worldwide. ICSTLL has been held in 13 different countries. Twenty-four of the meetings have been held in the United States with the first meeting taking place at Yale in 1968.
Submission Guidelines
We invite submission of abstracts for presentations covering all aspects of linguistic research on Sino-Tibetan and other area languages. Papers may treat issues in any subfield of linguistics, they may present field reports, or they may involve research in allied fields, such as linguistic anthropology, or prehistory. Papers will be allotted twenty minutes for presentation followed by ten minutes for questions and discussion. Papers should be presented in English.
Abstracts should conform to the following guidelines:

No longer than 500 words written in English.

Should not include the name and affiliation of the presenter

Special Sessions
The 2020 meeting of ICSTLL will include three sessions focusing on:

Session 1: Standards and procedures for the creation of Interlinear Gloss Texts (IGT)

Session 2: A generalized ontology for annotating linguistic concepts for ICSTLL languages

Session 3: Metadata for linguistic concepts in digital and legacy archival material
