About ICDRET
In the 21th Conference of the Parties (COP 2015) in Paris the parties came to a legally binding international treaty on climate change. It was adopted by 196 Parties at COP 21 in Paris. The goal has been set to limit the global warming to well below 2, preferably to 1.5 degrees Celsius, compared to pre-industrial levels.
World community is getting closer towards a unified collaborative effort to curb GreenHouse Gas (GHG) emission. The scale of the problem has been taken seriously by most of the developed nations. Promotion of Renewable Energy (RE) and adoption of enhanced efficiency at every stage has been envisaged. RE technologies have become cost competitive and in some parts of the world cheapest energy solutions. The cost of RE Technology is still falling. A rapid growth of RE based energy usage throughout the world has been observed in recent years. Both the developed and developing world are taking an equally optimistic approach towards popularizing RE technologies and working jointly to make this world livable for our next generation. In the year 2015 the world has seen a remarkable change in the new power capacity addition - for the first time in the history of the modern world the new addition of renewable power capacity has exceeded the capacity addition of conventional power generation.
Different countries of the world are now setting policies of low carbon or carbon free energy sector. Bangladesh is also following the same path.
Keeping in mind the shift of energy sector towards greener technologies, United International University is going to organize the 6th International Conference on the Developments in Renewable Energy Technology, ICDRET’21, on December 28-30, 2021 at Dhaka, Bangladesh. Like the previous ICDRETs, we expect participation from all tiers of RE sector to make the conference a useful forum for sharing experiences, exchanging the views and helping to forge a long lasting bonding between the academia, industry and the people involved in the dissemination of the technology at the grass root level.
