Disinformation spread over the digital networks is a threat to our democracies, societies, economies and individuals. Covid-19 also led the World Health Organization to create a new word - "Infodemic" - to designate the overload of information, including false and misleading one, in digital and physical environments during a disease outbreaks with visible impact in our relations with the media. It is urgent to look at the complexities of disinformation and its implications, clarify and minimize its phenomena, but also to address new strategies, like fact-checking to deal with information disorder.
In the scope of this European Cooperation project on Disinformation and Fact-Checking, we are excited o invite scholar who work in multiple modalities to submit their proposals to this conference, to be held in person at NOVA University of Lisbon, on June 23-24 2022. If you engage in issues related to disinformation and fact-checking, we welcome your submission. We are open to proposals that speaks to wide-ranging questions relevant to these areas.

Submission Guidelines
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. Please notice:
- Abstracts should have between 250 and 500 words;
- An author can only submit one proposal as first author and one as second author.
List of Topics
- Identifying and analyzing new forms and strategies of information disorder in the fields of education, journalism, law and public policies, politics, natural sciences and other fields;
- Impact of information disorder in audiences and their mobilization;
- Identifying, through case studies, examples of strategies and good practices regarding fact checking in the fields of education, journalism, law and public policies, social sciences, health and natural sciences, technologies and digital media (applied research);
- Scientific insights into disinformation, content moderation, and decision making;
- Public policy, regulatory and legal responses to the disinformation crisis;
- AI applications and related innovations in fighting information disorder (applied research);
- identifying and analyzing contributions of digital media literacy or counter-narratives to combat disinformation.
