Dear colleagues,
it is a great pleasure for us to invite you to attend the 15th International Conference on Intelligent Autonomous Systems IAS-15, taking place in Baden-Baden, Germany in June 2018.
After successful conferences in recent years, it’s time to welcome you in Europe.
Baden-Baden, located at the entrance to the beautiful Black Forest area in Germany offers a variety of cultural sites and events. It is located close to the border with France and the city of Karlsruhe with the highest German courts and high ranked research institutions in particular.
All this makes Baden-Baden a very attractive place to host IAS-15 and hence to bring together experts of intelligent autonomous systems from all over the world.
IAS-15 will provide a forum for high-level conference papers together with opportunities for discussing recent advances in autonomous systems within conference tracks or in several social functions.
An exhibition allows research partners and innovative companies and start-ups to present their latest results and products in order to get in close contact with the participants.
Besides this, there are many other arguments to come to Baden-Baden, especially if you want to taste excellent southern German food, drinks or enjoy the thermal baths.
We are very pleased to welcome you to Baden-Baden in 2018!
Sincerely
Marcus Strand Rüdiger Dillmann
(General Chair) (General Co-Chair)
Call for Papers

SUBMISSION OF FULL PAPERS: FEB 01, 2018
ACCEPTANCE NOTIFICATION: APRIL 15, 2018
CAMERA-READY SUBMISSION: MAY 15, 2018
Intelligent Autonomous Systems are increasingly applied in various areas ranging from industrial applications to professional service and household domains. New technologies and application domains push forward the need for research and development resulting in new challenges to be overcome in order to apply Intelligent Autonomous Systems in a reliable and user-independent way. Recent advances specifically in the area of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Adaptive Control enable autonomous systems with improved robustness and flexibility.
The 15th International Conference on Intelligent Autonomous Systems focuses on theory and advanced systems to be applied in industry and society as well as in adverse environments. The international event will bring together scientists, engineers and students on an international stage to present and discuss latest scientific results, technologies and ideas enabling Intelligent Autonomous Systems to perform in a safe, skillful and robust manner handling uncertainty and unforeseen events.
The conference will take place in the historical and culturally rich city of Baden-Baden in the Black Forest area of southern Germany. It is conveniently reachable by airplane or train, located close to the border with France.

Submission Guidelines
Papers submitted to the 15th Intelligent Autonomous Systems conference must describe original research. Submitted papers will undergo a single-blind peer-review process; the IEEE anti-plagiarism policy will be applied in the review process. Regarding overlap with works previously published by the same authors, the IEEE policy will be applied: “For submissions that have overlaps with previously published papers by the same authors (or with papers simultaneously submitted elsewhere), the IEEE rules are that the submission should cite the prior work, and clearly state how the submitted work is different from the previous publication or simultaneous submission. We don’t have hard and fast rules for how much overlap with prior publications is too much. Somewhere in the neighbourhood of 35% or more (of previously-published material) is a rough limit, although each submission has to be judged on its own merit. Note that overlaps with prior workshop papers (by the same authors) are usually not considered problematic since IEEE supports the evolutionary publication paradigm of workshop papers being improved to conference papers, which are then improved to journal papers.”
Paper submission
Papers must be written in English and submitted through the EasyChair portal.
Please click this link to start the submission process.
Authors that do not have an EasyChair account should create one in order to access the submission procedure. Submitted papers should be no longer than 12 pages; additional 6 pages are allowed at an extra cost of 50 EUR per page. Papers exceeding 12+6 pages could be rejected without review.
Papers must be prepared according to the following guidelines:
and must be generated using the Springer templates:
- Latex template – please use llncs.dem as a paper example;
Latex is the preferred format. Please follow the instruction included in the zip archives provided. Submission of multimedia attachments showing experimental results is encouraged; accepted file formats are: avi, mpg, wmv.
Paper publication
Papers accepted for publication must be revised according to the reviewers’ feedback and submitted again in the camera-ready version. Authors are required to sign a consent to publish form, that will transfer to Springer the copyright of the published paper. Papers without a signed consent to publish form will be removed from the conference proceedings.
Papers will be published by Springer in the “Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing” series indexed by ISI Proceedings, EI-Compendex, DBLP, SCOPUS, Google Scholar and Springerlink.
At least one of the authors of each accepted paper must register to the conference in order to finalize the submission. The payment of a full registration fee is required in order to complete the final submission procedure. The submission of a second paper by the same authors is possible by adding a reduced (student) fee.
It is a responsibility of the authors to present the work at the conference. Papers that will not be presented at the conference (no-show) will not be indexed in the search engines.
A book and a special session of a prestigious journal are planned to be published. They will host an extended version of the best papers presented at the conference.
