FOSS4G2018MAIN is the call for papers to the main conference. This is NOT the academic track which has a separate call for papers.
Submission Guidelines
Presentations in this category are be regular talks (20 minutes plus 5 minutes for Q&A). We expect to have 150-200 talks selected through this call. The selected presentations will be organized into approximately 6 parallel tracks.
Projectors will be available for the presentation. The presenters are adviced not to rely on access to internet for their presentations.
A big conference like this requires timeliness from the presenter. This means that the presentation starts on time and ends after no more than 25 minutes. Empty slots will not lead to rescheduling of talks.
List of Topics
All conferences has their own flair. We challenge the community to give us more knowledge about how the world of OSGeo can support the international sustainable development agenda - the 2030 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) alongside our the pillars of our OSGEO society. We seek to convene the best and brightest, not only to inform and educate those at our conference, but also to leave a lasting legacy in our host city. We have chosen these focus areas for applied presentations:
- Urban : Pollution in cities, Greening Transports, Urban Planning, Informal Settlements detection
- Coastal and Marine: Sensitivity Mapping, Sea level rise, Illegal Fishing, Pollution, Marine Spatial Planning
- Geospatial applications in Low speed internet countries= how to cope at the age of Cloud Based Geospatial technologies.
- Drones: Aerial, Underwater, OpenSource Workflow, Fleet management software
We are also interested in learning news from the pillars of our society. We therefore welcome presentations on the following themes:
- FOSS4G Software
- FOSS4G Adoption
- FOSS4G Use Cases & Applications
Committees
Program Committee
Proposals will be be subject to an anonymized selection/prioritization process with the greater OpenGeo community. The program committee will be coordinating the selection process and will advise for a final decision to the Organizing committee. The Organizing committee will have make the final decisions about the program.
