We are delighted to invite submissions for the first Forum on Englishes in Australia, to be held on 2 November 2018 at La Trobe University in Melbourne (Bundoora). The Forum will provide a space to meet and discuss the use of Englishes (and English-based contact varieties) in Australia which is inclusive of all methodological and theoretical approaches. We open this invitation to researchers from all stages of their careers, from Honours students upwards.
We aim to organise presentations in a single stream, enabling a workshop format, encouraging discussion and interaction. The format of the 5-minute presentation is designed specifically for work in its early stages; however, submissions of a similar nature for 20-minute oral presentations will also be considered. We encourage the submission of new work.
We will set aside time for open discussion centred on issues arising from the presentations, questions and informal discussions over tea on the day.
