6th Network in Education for Sustainability for Asia Conference 2018
30 April 2018 to 2 May 2018
National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
In 2018, NTU hosts the 6th Education for Sustainability Asia Conference in Singapore. What started as an academic meeting to compare best practices in the Asian region
has evolved into a vibrant epistemic community on discourses of theoretical underpinnings, disciplinary thinking, curriculum development and instructional practices on
Education for Sustainability (EfS). The theme of the conference “Knowledge, Skills and Action in EfS for a rapidly changing world” reflects the keystone issues discussed within the network.
The network is also characterized by the plurality of academic, social and cultural contexts of the members. Coming from countries across Asia, members from engineering,
humanities, social sciences and education background contribute to inter- and trans-disciplinary debates on the issues in EfS. The 2017 conference is also deliberately planned to take
place just before the Singapore Sustainability Symposium, to allow members to take part in both events. For the 2018 conference, we have invited Associate Professors Alan Reid and Ivy Tan
for the keynote presentations.
