Businesses navigate a confluence of challenges, including inflation, high energy prices, and persistent supply chain disruptions. The urgency of climate change, with escalating concerns about carbon emissions, deforestation, and biodiversity loss, necessitates a fundamental shift in business operations. Industries are undergoing a transformation driven by initiatives like the energy transition, transport electrification, and the adoption of circular economy models. Furthermore, ongoing debates on social justice, equity, and inclusion demand businesses act as responsible actors. The lasting impact of the pandemic includes a redefined focus on public health, the rise of remote work, and the ever-present digital divide. This complex and dynamic environment necessitates adapted approaches to operations, and thereby innovative and effective decision making facing economic, environmental and social changes.
