EURLYAID is pleased to inform you about the upcoming annual participatory conference which will take place in: Kharkiv, Ukraine, October 10-12 th 2018 in cooperation with the following partners : SI “Institute of Health of Children and Adolescents of National Academy of Medical Sciences”, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Social Policy and Ministry of Education, National Assembly of Persons with Disabilities of Ukraine(NAPD), UNICEF (tbc), Twinning project, Charity Fund Early Intervention, Institute (CFEI), Kharkiv, HealthProm UK.
Title and theme of the conference:
Early Childhood Intervention: changing paradigms through participatory practices with families, professionals and society.
The important aims at this conference are to support and contribute to:
1) constructive impact on the main recipients of ECI: children and families and to improve inclusion and quality of life
2) constructive impact on professionals because they are providers within these practices and it implies ways of delivering services. Knowledge and awareness are key elements.
3) constructive impact on organizational and political level towards governments, local and national, that provide these services.
Submission Guidelines
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference.
Please read carefully the following information concerning topics and instructions for the abstract proposals.
After the scientific committee has reviewed all abstract proposals, ultimately end of July 2018, you will be contacted about the outcome of this assessment, with further information and next steps.
Please register on the conference website within 2 weeks after you received the notification of the acceptance of your abstract. If not: your presentation will not be included in the conference program and proceedings.
The following topics within the overall theme of the conference are available; you are requested to carefully and explicitly choose and focus on 1 of the topics:
General Instructions:
- We encourage you to submit abstracts that involve professionals/scientists co - presenting with parents.
- The scientific committee reserves the right to recommend a different presentation format or topic from the one you proposed.
- You should indicate the topic of your proposal abstract (see the topics above)
- The title should be short and informative (max. 15 Words), and should not exceed 200 characters with spaces. Abbreviations and subtitles should be avoided.
- Provide the name, affiliation, area of expertise and contact details for each author. Please indicate which author(s) will be presenting the submission at the conference by listing her/him as the first author.
- Abstracts should have no more than 300 words (not including the title, authors’ names, institutional affiliation, and key words).
- In your submission indicate the evidence areas:
- Research Evidence - Present quality evidence gathered using empirical qualitative and/or quantitative research methods.
- Professional Practice - Share observations and experiences from your professional practice, or guide others in their practice.
- Parents stories and experiences
- Research Evidence proposal abstracts must include the aim, method, results, and conclusion.
- Abstracts should not include references.
- Three to five key words should be provided.
- Please list any presenter accessibility needs including set-up assistance, assistive technology requirements, and wheelchair accessibility.
Information for Parallel session presentations:
- Each session comprises 3 presentations followed by a moderated discussion.
- The presentation should not exceed 15 minutes.
- All of the presentation rooms will be equipped with an Internet enabled PC, data projectors, screen, USB ports, and audio output to amplified speakers.
information for Poster Presentations
- The posters should be printed in size A0
- Specific time for presenters to active be present at their poster: see conference schedule – October 11 from 17-18hrs
- Poster presentations will be visible during the entire conference.
- The abstract should provide a detailed description of the poster contents (for the conference proceedings and for review purposes).
Guidelines for formatting abstracts:
Abstracts should be submitted in English or Ukrainian with English translation, in Microsoft Word, Times New Roman font type. The text should be fully justified, on A4 paper size, with margins set at 2cm. Structure of abstract:
- •Title - capital, bold letters, font size 14 pt
- Full surname, name, and institutional affiliation of all authors – font size 12 pt, with the name of the presenting author underlined and his/her email address given in footnotes.
- Text of abstract – font size 12 pt
- Key words – italic, font size 12 pt
To get a certificate of attendance and/or presentation you have to register and attend the conference.

Publication
ECIEurlyaid2018 proceedings will be published in 2018. We will provide further instructions about submission guidelines upon the revision of the abstracts.
