The first Conference on Software Engineering and Data Sciences (CoSEDS 2018) will be held at University of Kashmir, Srinagar on June 20-21. The Conference is organized by the Department of Computer Sciences, North Campus, University of Kashmir. The CoSEDS will bring together researchers, academicians and people from industry to present and/or discuss ideas, results, expertise, problems and experiences in the field of Software Engineering, Data Sciences and intersection of both fields. Besides featuring contributions and discussions in the area of Software Engineering and interdisciplinary field of Data Sciences, CoSEDS will also push to identify, analyze and discuss critical links between Software Engineering and Data Sciences.
Submission Guidelines
The goal of the CoSEDS 2018 is to provide a platform for all stakeholders in these fields from both academia and industry to present their work and explore the latest developments in the area of Software Engineering, the interdisciplinary field of Data Sciences and other allied fields. CoSEDS 2018 seeks contributions of different types, including theoretical foundations, practical techniques, new ideas, empirical studies, experience, and lessons learned. Submissions should contain original research and sufficient detail to assess the merits and relevance of the contribution. We invite submissions under three categories: Regular papers, Short papers and Position Papers.
- Regular papers should not exceed 11 pages, 10 pages for the main text (including figures, appendix etc.) and 1 page for references.
- Short papers should not exceed 6 pages.
- Work in Progess or Position papers should not exceed 2 pages, including references.
Regular papers are expected to contain in-depth descriptions of the work along with detailed evaluation and/or representing a self-contained theoretical contribution.
Short papers may contain preliminary results, brief accounts of original ideas, and other relevant work of potentially high scientific interest; for example, new interesting ideas, which may not be evaluated extensively, tool descriptions or case studies.
Work in progress or Position papers are expected to describe ideas and proposals that the author(s) would like to present at the conference.

Venue
The conference will be held at University of Kashmir, Main Campus, Hazratbal Srinagar, J&K. The University of Kashmir is situated at Hazratbal in Srinagar. It is flanked by the world famous Dal Lake on its eastern side and Nigeen Lake on the western side. The Main Campus of the University spread over 247 acres of land have 3 campus as Hazratbal, Naseem Bagh and Mirza Bagh. The Campus is also very near to the famous Mughal gardens and this unique topological feature is in sync with nature. The University is at a distance of 10 kms from Tourist Reception Center (TRC/City Centre), 16 kms from Nowgam Railway station and 25 kms from the Srinagar Airport.
