From Process to Plate: Progressing Cellular Agriculture Products to the Market
Please join us for the 2nd annual CARMA Conference. A one day in-person event in central London for all those interested in innovation and advancement in the field of cellular agriculture manufacturing.
The meeting will feature an update on the EPSRC-funded CARMA project with a number of more detailed presentations from work package leads. There will also be opportunities for the wider community to submit abstracts for invited oral and poster presentations.
Outline programme:
- 09:30 Registration
- Opening address - Professor Gary Lye, CARMA Co-director and Conference Chair, University College London
- Update on progress and how to get involved - Professor Marianne Ellis, CARMA Director, University of Bath
- Keynote presentation - Efficiency, efficiency, efficiency......considerations for reducing cost in cultivated meat production - Professor Ramiro Alberio, University of Nottingham
- Abstract presentations
- Updates from CARMA Grand Challenge 2: Bioprocessing strategies for cost effective and sustainable cultivated meat production. Dr Petra Hanga, University College London
- Lunch, poster walk and trade exhibition
- Updates from CARMA Grand Challenge 1: The emergent supply chain of cultivated meat: an initial analysis. Professor Brian Squire, University of Bristol
- Keynote presentation - Regulating innovation: the cell cultivated products sandbox. Professor Robin May, University of Birmingham
- Focused workshop on key technological challenges and issues raised by citizen and stakeholder forums. Dr Atenchong Talleh Nkobou, Royal Agricultural University
- 16:30 Closing remarks and abstract prize presentation, Professor Gary Lye
