After the successful 4th international Conference of C.A.I.P.T. (March 2015), we are announcing the two-day preconference Symposium (CAIPT PsC2019) entitled "Music & Arts Therapies in Healthcare Settings", as a preparation for the 5th International Conference of C.A.I.P.T. (Fall 2020). The Symposium will follow the General Assembly of the European Consortium for Arts Therapies Education (ECArTE), which will be held in March 27-29, 2019, at the same place. Members of ECArTE are kindly invited to participate at the Symposium as presenters and attendees. The Symposium focuses on different perspectives on Arts Therapies concerning education, research, clinical work, approaches and ethics.

Submission Guidelines
We invite music therapists as well as arts therapists, allied health professionals, educators and community arts practitioners to submit proposals that consider the symposium's theme and topics in the following formats:
- Invited lectures
- Oral presentations (15 minutes, with an additional 5 minutes for questions)
- Poster presentations
- Workshops (Providing practical techniques in an in-depth format. Each workshop session includes two 45-minute sessions.)
Deadline for abstract submission: February 15, 2019 at 11:59 EET

Official Language: All sessions at the CAIPT PcS-2019 will be given in English. Abstracts must be submitted in English to be considered for CAIPT PcS-2019.
Abstract submission site: All presenters are encouraged to submitt their abstracts through EasyChair at: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=caiptpcs2019 Creating an EasyChair account is required before abstract submission. Abstract review and notification: All abstracts will receive blind peer-review by two members of the Scientific Program Committee according to the following criteria:
- Quality of the empirical work and theoretical foundation
- Implications for arts therapy practice
- Originality
- Clarity and organisation
- Relevance to the theme
Abstracts will be considered for both Podium and Poster Presentations. Email notifications of acceptance or rejection will be sent to corresponding authors by March 10, 2019.
Registration Requirement: Upon acceptance, all presenting authors of both oral and poster presentations must register for the symposium. Failure to register by March 20, 2019 will result in removal from the scientific program.
Publication
CAIPT PcS-2019's abstract book will be published at the symposiums website. Selected speakers will be invited to submit papers to a special journal issue on the symposium's theme.
Venue
