The primary aim of the 2018 Bay Area Robotics Symposium is to bring together roboticists from the Bay Area. This year’s symposium will feature an opportunity for industrial researchers to present their work. Selected presenters will be given a speaking opportunity equivalent to the invited presenters. Interested parties are requested to submit an abstract detailing the topic that they wish to present. Submitted abstracts must be no more than 500 words in length.
Note that presentations must focus on research problems and results, in the style of an academic presentation, rather than promoting the company or recruiting future hires. In addition to the abstract, prospective speakers must answer the following questions:
- Is this a research talk or a non-research technical talk?
- If research, have you published this work or plan to publish it? Where?
- Summarize in one sentence what an academic audience will learn from your talk.
- Provide a link to a video or figure you will use in your talk.
Submitted abstracts will be judged completely independently of a company’s status as a BARS sponsor, and participation in one facet (research talk/sponsor) will have no impact on participation in the other.
