1st International Symposium on Applied Linguistic Research (ALR2020)
“Language Studies: Practical Implications for the Society”
The Applied Linguistics Research Lab (ALLAB) at Prince Sultan University (PSU) is pleased to announce the 1st International Symposium on Applied Linguistic Research (ALR2020) which will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020. ALLAB invites proposals in areas relevant to the symposium theme, “Language Studies: Practical Implications for the Society.” The call for papers addresses, but is not limited to, these areas of focus:
- Translation and Interpretation Studies
- Foreign Language Learning
- Second Language Acquisition
- Language Assessment and Evaluation
- Language Literacy Studies
- Language Policy
- Language Teaching and Technology
- Corpus Linguistics
- Discourse Analysis
- Psycholinguistics
- Sociolinguistics
- Bilingualism
- Vocabulary Acquisition
- English and the Corporate World
Submission Guidelines
We welcome proposals in one of these two categories:
1- Paper Presentations
Paper presentations should be 20 minutes long with an additional 10 minutes for discussion.
The abstract should range between 250 - 300 words in length with a clear title (12 words maximum). It should reflect the research gap, methods, and findings/implications.
2- Poster Presentations
Posters will be presented for 60 minutes during the lunch break.
The abstract should range between 250-300 words in length with a clear title (12 words maximum). It should reflect the research gap, methods, and findings/implications.
Please note that:
1- All proposals must be in English.
2- All submissions should include a short bio (50 words) of the main presenter and a 50-word summary to be included in the conference program.
Publishing Opportunities
In order to promote Applied Linguistic Research output in Saudi Arabia, we also offer opportunities to publish accepted papers in the following reputed journals based on the guidelines and upon the regular rigorous review of these journals:
