Corpora linguistici
Didattica del cinese mediante strumenti digitali
Lessicografia digitale
CAT tools e tecnologie per la traduzione
Tecnologie per l’audiovisivo

Workshop: Digital Humanities for Chinese
Digital Humanities are a multidisciplinary field of investigation, which is at the crossroads between digital technologies and the different areas of humanities. The fast digitization process, which had increased in recent decades, has grown even faster in the last two years, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Digitization led to the creation of significant amounts of data, which need to be analyzed more quickly and effectively.
Digitization is a great opportunity for linguistics, both for the theoretical aspects of research and for its various applications. The creation of ever larger and more diversified corpora of data makes it possible to conduct more precise corpus-driven studies on areas of the language, which proved difficult to handle before. At the same time, more refined technologies provide new tools for language teaching, lexicography, translation and in general in all those areas where the language is professionally used.
The knowledge of the technological tools, programs, data archives, as well as the opportunities of usage, which constitute the essence of Digital Humanities, has become an indispensable requirement both for linguistic research and for the linguistic professions.
Therefore, contributions in English are invited on the areas of Digital Humanities applied to the Chinese language and to linguistic research on Chinese, including:
Linguistic corpora
Language teaching by means of digital tools
Digital lexicography
CAT tools and technologies for translation
Technologies for audiovisual products
